Coming directly out of his imagination Kiff,s works show a fascination with colour, and narrative. Having just recently discovered Kiff, I was pleasantly surprised by some similarities between Kiff's and my own work to date.

For Kiff "colour thinking" was more important than "image thinking" He saw colour in terms of images and images in terms of colour. I personally see images in my imagination first, than colour comes into play. The similarities to Kiff's work and mine are more in terms of the composition rather than colour scheme.

The above painting in acrylic on paper we see two heads. the main one bisected by a triangular construction inhabited by what could be two shadowy figures. The second head lower down in the composition is pink and turquoise. it seems to be encroaching on the scene from the right. This play with space in this picture is something is something that i use in my own work
