These are pages from my sketch book. they are drawn in pen and ink each one a potential painting. There are recurring motifs in these sketches. Such as the eye ball serpent and fish, door ways and windows, trees and chess boards. Some of the figures are monstrous made of body parts human yet freely aranged to be visually exciting. Other figures on the other hand are more traditional and add add a week narrative to the sketch in which they are present. The spaces in these works have been freely drawn. I have been playing with space. For example a wall may simultaneously be a sky or an out door scene. The fish are dream animals. I often dream about fish. They move freely in my dreams and are not confined to water or a tank. The pictures have a certain fluidity about them, similar in a way that in sleep we move from dream to dream.
