Dream scene

This is my latest painting. It is rendered in primer at then moment. It measures 6 feet by 6 feet. The subject is a dream about my living room, populated by strangers. some say that every body in your dream is a personification of the self. So with that in mind you could say that this painting is a kind of a self portrait.

The perspective is freely drawn in pastel, and then overpainted in grey and white paint on to the raw canvas.a figure sits on a couch in the left foreground, and a mother figure enters the room in the right mid ground. In the centre for ground is a still life a pint glass, scorpion and pipe. A clock on the wall above the fire place indicates that it is two minutes to midnight. a time that indicates imminent nuclear war.

With the primer acting as an under painting I shall fill in the canvas and define the forms in a bright palette, hopefully in time for the second year show.
