This is probably my favourite painting ever.It is an oil on canvas. Duffield painted still lives. He studied in London and Belgium. the painting is super realistic. The fruits are handled with exquisite brush work. The grapes, pineapple, melons etc are all rendered with care to capture their contrasting textures.. the subject is set against a fantastic landscape. Upon closer inspection it is imposable to how the work was produced. As it has no visible brush strokes.I find this to be a breath taking painting. a painting that i can view over and over with out getting board.
