Hans Ruedi Giger (5th February 1940-12th May 2014) was a surrealist painter/sculpter who is well known for his design work on the "Alien" film franchise. Gingers paintings which are mainly airbrush renderings have a dark sculptural quality to them. he developed two genres " biomechanics" and "erotomechanics". The later of which were described in one news paper as pornography.

I admire Gigers airbrush paintings that have a slick photorealistic style to them. it is moreover the dark atmospheric qualities to them that capture my imagination.
