this is a study for a triptych that is to be titled "self". it is intended to be an idea for the centre panel. The painting it self is executed in water colour and acrylic paint on paper. I abandoned life like colouring for a more liberal approach to the colouration.

Water colours are used wet in wet to render the background giving a softer resolution. The figurative elements are filled in using acrylic paint so that these elements are sitting forward of the water colour. I plan to carry out the triptych on three six foot canvases, utilising the airbrush for the finish on the background quite pleased with the prep work. hope it isn't stronger than the finished triptyc.
